Capture a client's file
SnapEE reads the portal pages you open. It saves what it reads on your computer, encrypted. It never changes anything in the portal.
- In the IRCC portal, open your client's file and go to its checklist page. SnapEE shows who it detected, for example "Detected on checklist page: Casey Applicant, Robin Partner".
- In the SnapEE popup, choose Start capture. For a family it says Start capture (family).
- Open each section normally, or choose Auto-walk all sections. The auto-walk opens each section page in your tab to read it. Do not navigate away while it runs. Reopen the popup any time to see progress. Choose Stop to stop it, and what was captured so far is kept.
- When the sections you need are captured, choose Generate report.
Things to know
- If the popup says some checklist rows were not recognised, those forms are skipped by the walk. The report lists them as not captured.
- If a walk flags a section as incomplete, the report says which one. Auto-walk is also slower on an unfinished section, and Why Auto-walk is slow on some sections explains why.
- The file already submitted? The portal's View submitted application link shows documents and fees, not forms. See Capture a file that has already been submitted.
- Choose End session to clear what was captured for this file before you start another client. When the checklist was detected, the report ignores sections from any other file. When it was not, the report includes everything captured in the session, so always end the session between clients.
