Help / Reports
Capture a file that has already been submitted
After a file is submitted, the portal's link View submitted application or upload documents opens a page that lists the documents and the fees. It does not list the forms. IRCC has a page of the same file that does, and SnapEE can read it. This article shows how to reach it.
Open the checklist page
IRCC does not link to this page and does not describe it, so it can change without notice. Representatives have used it for years, and it worked when we tested it in October 2026. SnapEE is not connected to IRCC.
- In the IRCC portal, open the file and choose View submitted application or upload documents. The page is headed Documents submitted by the client.
- Open the SnapEE popup. On the documents page of a submitted file, SnapEE shows a note and a button, Open the checklist page. Choose it. The checklist page opens in the same tab and the popup closes. This button needs SnapEE 0.13.13 or later.
- No button? Change the address yourself. In the address bar, replace documentsToSubmit at the end with applicationChecklist and press Enter. The full address is https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/eapp/applicationChecklist
- Each person's forms now appear, with a View form button on every row. Capture the file as usual. Open the popup, check the names, choose Start capture, choose Auto-walk all sections, then choose Generate report. Capture a client's file has the details.
What the report looks like
SnapEE goes by the button on each row of the checklist, not by the word Transmitted. A profile that is still in the pool also says Transmitted, and it can still be updated.
- Every row says View form. Nothing on the file can be changed, so the report is a record. The line under the title reads Record of the forms. The note under the summary says it is a record of the forms as the portal showed them, and that they could not be changed when the report was read. The Client approval menu is not shown, and no approval block prints, even if you chose one for an earlier file. If a form was not marked Transmitted, for example a form still In progress on an expired profile, the note names it.
- Any row says Start form, Continue form or Update form. The file can still be changed. The report is the usual one, with the review wording and the Client approval menu. See Client approval.
Examples of files that show View form are a PR application that has been submitted and a profile that has expired.
Good practice
- Use this only for files you are authorised to act on. Choose End session between clients.
- Leave the portal's Start Again button alone. We do not know what it does on a submitted file.
- SnapEE moves your tab only when you start an Auto-walk or choose Open the checklist page. It never changes, fills in or submits anything in the portal.
If it does not work
- There is no Open the checklist page button. It shows only on the documents page of a submitted file, when your licence allows capture and no Auto-walk is running. If you installed or updated SnapEE after opening the page, refresh the page once. A file that has not been submitted yet shows an upload page, and there is nothing to open.
- The page opens but SnapEE shows no names. Refresh the page once.
- The address does not open the checklist, or the page shows no forms. IRCC may have changed it. Write to us and say what you see.
